With decades of speaking and presentation experience, DynamiCoach Founder Tom Cobin can help you elevate your own skills to advance your career.

Tom began a lifetime of public speaking in grade school — taking home trophies and plaques from speech competitions all across the New York City Tri-State Area. In high school debate, he and his partner went all the way to State Finals. Tom graduated high school early with honors in three years, and enrolled in a Pre-Med curriculum at Cornell University. He later transitioned to studying Broadcast Journalism at New York University. At the student-run radio station, WNYU-FM / AM, he held roles as a newscaster, talk show host, and jazz DJ. (Trivia nugget: the classmate with the radio show immediately before Tom’s became one of the first “VeeJays” on MTV!),

While still in college, Tom began working professionally as a freelance on-air radio reporter for the Mutual Broadcasting System and its New York City affiliate, WHN-AM. Tom was the top student of his graduating NYU Class in Broadcast Journalism, and was inducted into the Kappa Tau Alpha Journalism Honor Society. Even before graduation, he was already working at WCBS-TV “Channel 2 News” as a writer & producer.

Tom’s 10 years “behind-the-scenes” at CBS in NYC culminated with two years as Weekend Producer for WCBS-TV. Tom then decided to leave his hometown to go on-camera. He moved up quickly through small and medium markets, in various positions: Investigative Reporter, Weathercaster, and Anchor. Just two years after launching his on-camera career, Tom became the first journalist ever to win two Edward R. Murrow Awards in the same year from the Radio – Television News Directors Association.

Shortly after joining WAVY-TV in Virginia, Tom was sent to cover the Oklahoma City bombing in April, 1995. Over the next five years, his hard-hitting investigative reports for “10 On Your Side” were featured nationally several times on The Montel Williams Show.

After his highly successful, award-winning career in broadcast journalism, Tom’s focus returned to the field of medicine. A transition into pharmaceutical sales blended his long-standing interest and background in health and science with a smooth & confident presentation style, developed over his many years as a professional communicator in TV News.

Tom’s award-winning sales performance has been based on the ability to quickly digest complex subjects;  summarize key points; and deliver information accurately and fairly. With an expressive, engaging style, Tom achieved impact through presentations of varying lengths, to many different audiences, in a wide variety of situations and scenarios.

Throughout his pharmaceutical career, Tom helped improve the performance of colleagues as a District and National Sales Trainer. (Tom’s passion for elevating others’ skills has also included being an instructor in skiing, sailing, windsurfing, and rollerblading.)

Due to his robust background as a speaker and trainer, he has delivered Presentation Skills Workshops for pharmaceutical field-sales colleagues, and even been sought out by senior leadership as a coach for important presentations.

Tom played a critical leading role in the development and execution of a ground-breaking, first-ever “Virtual Sales Meeting” — years before COVID-19 — which won an internal company award for innovation and cost-savings. This experience left him well-prepared for the sudden transformation of the business environment due to the pandemic.

Tom is now offering his extensive knowledge and experience to help you advance your own career. His workshops and coaching can elevate your skills in public speaking, presentation, and facilitation. You’ll be better prepared for all environments: live-in-person, virtual, and “hybrid” settings.

Tom’s DynamiCoach Approach marries thoroughly-researched scientific data with practical activities and exercises. He’ll help you identify and enhance the “voice” that is uniquely your own.

Three-hour DynamiCoach workshops are scheduled based on demand. Tom is available for individual one-on-one coaching – in person in South Florida, or virtually from anywhere else – as well as Keynote Speeches for corporate or other groups.
